At the General Meeting on 8 September, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences released a list of new foreign members. Professor Yu Jihong of Jilin University was elected as a foreign member to the Class for chemistry of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Yu is a world-renowned expert in inorganic synthesis, nanoscience, and solid state chemistry. She is the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician of TWAS, Foreign Member of Academia Europaea, the director of International Center of Future Science, Jilin University and Professor of State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry, College of Chemistry, Jilin University. She was the Associate Editor of Chemical Science (2012-2020) and joined JACS as an Executive Editor in 2021.
About the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences was founded in 1739 and is an independent organization, whose overall objective is to promote the sciences and strengthen their influence in society. The Academy promotes science of the highest quality by fostering development and innovation in Swedish research. The Academy has around 460 Swedish and 175 foreign members. Since the start in 1739, about 1.700 Swedish members have been elected.
