Georgiy Levchenko is a Ph.D. in Physical Mathematics. Professor and head of Department of the Donetsk Institute of Phase Change Physics and Technology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He was born in 1947. He was graduated from the Department of Physics of the Donetsk State University in 1974. He received his master's degree from the Donetsk Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences in 1977. He received his associate degree in 1984 and received his doctorate in 1994. In 2010, he was awarded the title of professor, and his professional direction was “solid physics”. Since 1998, he has been the head of Department of the Donetsk Institute of Phase Change Physics and Technology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2013, he became the winner of the Schubert Goff Award. In 2015, he became Correspondent member of National Academy Science of Ukraine.
Georgiy Levchenko has published more than 200 scientific papers and has several patented technologies. His research results have been applied in many countries, such as the high pressure chamber (AHPS, HPC) and helium cryostat (OMBBC-He5, OMBBC-He10). Used by 25 countries including Germany, Spain, France, and Mexico, Professor Levchenko's research has great academic influence in Ukraine and abroad, and has made outstanding contributions to the international high-pressure physics field.
