Biography
Prof. Kai Guan received his BS (2014) from Inner Mongolia University and PhD (2019) from University of Science and Technology of China (State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Resources Utilization, Changchun Institute of Chemical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences). He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Tokyo in Japan during 2019-2021. He has been a doctoral supervisor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Jilin University since 2022. His main research interest is the design and preparation of advanced light alloys, especially high performance magnesium alloys containing rare earth elements for aerospace applications. He has co-authored over 50 research papers including Scr. Mater., Corros. Sci., JMA, JMST, etc.; obtained over 10 authorized Chinese Invention Patents. He serves on the Young editorial board of the Journal of Rare Earths, Acta Metallurgica Sinica (English Letters).
