    Biography

    Liang Shen is a Young scholar of National Major Talents Project, Leading Professor A Post of “Tang Aoqing Scholar” of Jilin University, deputy dean of College of Electronic Science and Engineering of Jilin University and one of the third level top-notch innovative talents in Jilin Province.
    He is mainly engaged in the research of new semiconductor optoelectronic information materials, devices and systems, with new material mechanism exploration - high-performance device research and development - new application system integration as the main line of research. He has made important original achievements in portable highly sensitive and stable X-ray detectors, ultra-fast visible light detectors, wide/narrow adjustable photomultiplier detectors, and large dynamic range near-infrared perovskite/organic heterojunction detectors. He has successively developed solar light tracking system, infrared/X-ray imaging system, sound-optical conversion communication system and visible light communication system to meet the requirements of the aerospace field and serve the major national strategies. In recent years, as the first/corresponding author, he has published 78 high-level research (review) papers in Nat Photon., Sci. Adv., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Light-Sci. Appl., Sci. Bull., and other international important academic journals with a total citation of more than 8400 times (Google Scholar) and an H-factor of 49. He has granted more than 40 invention patents in the United States and China. He won the first prize of 2015 Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Award for Natural Science. Currently, he serves as the youth editor of InfoMat, SmartMat, Acta Photonica Sinica, Laser and Optoelectronics Progress. He has won the title of Advanced Individual in Teacher Ethics of Jilin University, Outstanding Communist Party Member of Jilin University, Outstanding Head Teacher with Full Responsibility, and he is the winner of the Undergraduate Class Quality Excellent Award.

    Research Directions:
    1. Research on materials, devices and systems for photoelectric conversion and radiation detection based on next-generation semiconductors;
    2. Structure design and development of integrated devices based on new semiconductors;
    3. System development for optical communication and weak light/radiation signal detection and processing.

    Selected Publications:
    Liang Shen has published more than 200 SCI retrieval papers in international famous journals, such as Nat. Photon., Sci. Adv., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Light-Sci. Appl. and Sci. Bull. He has been invited many times to write reviews and monographs in top review journals of materials science such as Adv. Mater. and Adv. Energy Mater.
